{it's a date}

At last, the lovely old linen calendar tea towels are taking shape... as strings of bunting.

I'm thinking that it'd be fun to hang them up for celebrations throughout the year, from New Year's Day,

to Valentine's Day,

to April Fool's Day,

to the 4th of July,

and, a touch of orange for Halloween!

Yes, almost every date is covered! It almost makes me want to find something -- National Fish Finger Day, Cadbury's Appreciation Day -- to celebrate every day of the year.

Hi, just wondering if you are using the actual calendar part for the bunting, what will you do with the "pretty" part? thanks!

Susan, I'll be using some of the pretty parts to make flags for the bunting, too, so it's not all calendar. But the prettiest of pretty parts are being put aside for something else... something not yet clear in my own head!

Glad you like it! It's putting me in celebration mode already!

What a fab use of the calendar towels (and glad to hear the pretty parts being saved too)

I love the bunting too - and am pleased to read that these fabulous calendars are being put to multiple uses - because they are so lovely! I remember when you first posted about them being delighted by the patterns! Thanks for the note *

I've been wondering what you were going to create, this is sweet! I love handmade bunting, it adds such warmth. Can't wait to see it hung up!

Thanks! Yes, bunting is so good at making a home seem bright and warm. And the linen is proving to be just the right weight to hang beautifully.
