{home again, home again, jiggity jig}

Two full days of planes, trains and automobiles this week as I hopped over to England -- but it was all worth it for forty-three hours of family, green fields, and feasting, all in celebration of Mormor.

A sad time for us all, but what a wonderful collection of stories were told. Mormor, the queen of good food, would have enjoyed the traditional Danish lagkage, smoked salmon and rye bread, and English trifle. My contribution to the spread was sculpting a little marzipan piggy -- Mormor's favourite treat, ever since she was young.

And, for those of you who are curious how husband and baby survived back at home -- they did wonderfully! Both bathed, fed, and the house was even tidy when I got home. Three cheers for Justin!

So sorry to hear about your loss, but glad that you were able to go back to celebrate her life with your family.

I love the marzipan pig, it looks both cute and delicious. :)
