My Weekend in Numbers

Number of babies delivered: 0

Number of tea cups cut and sewn onto linen: 20

Number of times I've felt it might be time to go to the hospital: 0

Number of teapots cut and sewn: 2, with the third in progress right now.

I keep thinking that the next crafty project I start is the one I won't be able to finish. I'm not supposed to finish the teapots, or the tea cups. I wasn't supposed to finish the scrapbook of Tucson. And before that, I wasn't supposed to finish the foxes or the fabric hearts or the mobile. And though I'm rather glad to have all these lovely finished things, rather than having them piled in progress around the house, I am really looking forward to the project that I'll have to put aside and leave in pieces while we rush off to have Tilly.

Bench Cushion

It's been a lovely morning of sewing, with Blunty and Norah on the CD player, and banana smoothies for refreshment. I do spoil myself!

The bench that Justin built for our entryway last autumn finally has a cushion! This cushion serves two purposes: firstly, comfort; and secondly, covering up where the screws misbehaved and didn't quite go in right!

And, you won't believe this, but I found both these fabrics on Walmart's bargain fabric rack... both were $1.50 a yard! But unfortunately, because I didn't have any specific project in mind when I bought it, I only got half a yard of each! Luckily, it was enough... just!

And I'm planning to continue the relaxation on into this evening: a little scrapbooking, another Coco Chanel film (I just saw "Coco Before Chanel" and loved it!) and a nice cold glass of Cranberry-and-fizzy-water!

Mod Moosies

What with all this knitting, I've been neglecting my other favourite crafty pursuits. Like paper!

These little square frames were a dollar for three a while back at Target, so I got myself a few sets, and filled them with fun squares of scrapbooking paper and cut-out moosies in contrasting colours and patterns. Very Ikea, no?

And speaking of moose, I thought you might like to know that I've started on a whole new series of paintings, inspired by our antlered friends. I've got three designs ready to go, and a heap load of inspiration still bubbling, so... watch this space!
